The U.S. banking industry’s second-quarter profits fell by 70% from a year ago as low interest rates and the economic turmoil which started with the repo-madness in September 2019 intensifies.
The pandemic excuse is starting to weigh heavily on big and small banks alike and a lack of profits spells eventual trouble for depositors.
